Keeping a Historic Ship Safe: DLM & LGS Collaborate
Dynamic Load Monitoring (UK) Ltd. (DLM) and Lifting Gear & Safety (LGS) partnered to ensure the safe docking of HMS Warrior, a renowned Victorian warship.
The project involved measuring the tension on the mooring chains that keep the iconic ship securely docked in Portsmouth, UK.
DLM, a specialist in load monitoring solutions, provided the necessary hardware and software, including telemetry dongles, load cells, and data logging software. LGS, experts in lifting and marine equipment, handled the installation and project management.
This collaborative effort allowed for continuous data collection over three months, providing valuable insights into the forces acting on the mooring chains.
